Onsite Contractor Knowledge Base – This Knowledge Base includes steps to check company compliance, search for and edit employees, run reports on competencies or work hours, and create users, among other helpful tips. This process can be completed in Onsite, the Pegasus software that powers the McConnell Dowell Contractor Management System.

McConnell Dowell Business Rules (coming soon) – The Business Rules specify the requirements of the documents you upload in the system (licences, insurances, safety certifications). Ensuring your documents meet these requirements will save time and have you approved faster.

What category medical does a rail worker need?

The minimum requirement for rail workers on the WPA is a Category 3 Medical with a Drug and Alcohol screening.

Some roles may require higher category medicals, so please ensure the requirements of the worker’s RIW role are met.

What do the KCR and/or ABR Inducted roles require?

  • Construction card
  • Category 3 Medical (minimum)
  • Drug and alcohol screening

Where do I book the V/Line Safely Access the Rail Corridor training required for the V/Line – Operator role?

To register for this training, please visit the V/Line portal > register or login >  book training > select the Safely Access the Rail Corridor Assessment training.

Where do I book the V/Line National Contractor Induction required for the V/Line – Operator role?

To register for this training, please visit the V/Line website. V/Line will email the Statement of Completion to be uploaded in the RIW system.

Where do I book the ARTC National Contractor Induction required for the ARTC – Operator role?

To register for this training, please visit the ARTC website > Select Create Account to complete the induction.

Once completed, downloaded the Receipt of Completion and Certificate to upload to worker’s profile in the RIW system.

Where do I book the Metro Safety and Environment Induction required for the MTM – Operator role?

Which McConnell Dowell projects require contractor registration?

McConnell Dowell will be rolling out the Contractor Management System across their projects. Currently, contractors working for the Western Program Alliance must be registered before coming to work.

How much does worker registration in the RIW system cost?

Worker registration in the RIW system costs $100 + GST per person every two years for the management of roles, verification of documents, and supply of card, with an annual renewal fee of $30 + GST. Replacement cards cost $15 + GST each.

What benefit does the Contractor Management System have for contractors?

Registration ensures contracting businesses are qualified to work for McConnell Dowell. It allows them to keep information up to date in one place online, and to ensure the qualifications and competencies of their employees to work for McConnell Dowell in the Rail Industry Worker system.

What will I need to upload in the system for rail workers?

The Rail Industry Worker system will require you to upload a photo of your rail workers and documents to support the qualifications and competencies for the workers to complete the roles you selected for them. They’ll also need to complete a 100 point ID check with Australia Post.
